The Hockey Shop Custom Brian’s “Lack” Pro Stock Leg Pads

Due to the amount of amazing custom Brian’s leg pads we’ve been ordering in for customers the past couple months we decided to create our own pad– take a look at this THS “Lack” Pro Stock leg pad.  This pad is based off the “Halak” spec pad that has gained Brian’s a ton of momentum heading into the 2011/2012 season.

We started off by removing the knee rolls on the face of the pad; this does a couple of things for us.  First, it helped reduce the 34”+1” pad to an amazing 5.20 lbs.– compare that to Vaughn’s Velocity which comes in at over 6 lbs.!  Secondly, it allows the goalie to better read rebounds off the knee area and effectively steer them into low scoring areas.  Something else we did to help curb the weight was remove straps and move the pad to a tapered outer roll that was originally found on Brian’s DX2 series.  This modification also prevents puck skip over when making a save in the butterfly position.  In the leg channel the pad is 100% nylon; this is one of the most underrated modifications in my opinion as nylon is light, but more importantly is extremely slick– a must have to help rotation for butterfly goaltenders!  Lastly, this pad includes a thick, high density knee lifter with a “through strap”.  The knee block gives the goaltender superior balance while in the butterfly and also increases durability, while the strap truly encapsulates the knee, eliminating any shifting during gameplay.

While this is a truly remarkable pad, Brian’s is capable of much more. Whether it’s your own graphic, or a unique modification, Brian’s and The Hockey Shop have you covered.
